Alignment Journaling
September 22, 2025
I love journaling. But trust me, I haven’t always! There’s many a started and not finished journal stacked/packed away somewhere in my home. So what finally changed my attitude on journaling? Not taking it so seriously. And journal prompts. I found that if I were forced to free write on a page, I would sit and stare at it for hours and have no idea what to write.
The first journal I actually finished was actually a planner. I used the daily planner to simply list things I was grateful for. Everyday, for a year, I made a list of four things every day that I was grateful for that day. I kept track of my daily habits (which changed throughout the year but included such habits as drinking enough water, getting some type of movement in, reading, journaling(!), meditating, etc). I scheduled out my week of appointments, yoga classes, workouts I wanted to do. At the beginning of each month, I set goals for myself (some as simple as drink SOME water every day and some as complicated as start a business!) and then at the end of the month I summarized how I did on my goals. Did I complete them? If not, why? Am I going to keep that goal for the next month or set a different goal? If that seems like a lot, well, it is! And I certainly didn’t start off that way! I simply started with four things that I was grateful for that day.
As I became more comfortable writing down my thoughts, I found I had more to say if I had specific questions to answer. Hence, the topic of this blog post. A great way to get started is to define your core values. Core values are a set of guiding principles that shape your decisions, actions, and relationships in life. Your core values are the foundation of building a purposeful life for yourself. Defining these core values brings you into alignment with your truest self.
So give it a shot! What are your top three core values?
My core values include:
Making Meaningful Contribution – Finding work that feels authentic and purposeful, whether that’s helping clients get organized, supporting wellness, or contributing to social causes that I find meaningful.
Alignment & Integrity – Living and working in harmony with my values—and helping others do the same—is central to me.
Growth & Empowerment – Through journaling, alignment and organization offerings, and mentoring, I aim to help people grow, find clarity, and step into better versions of themselves. I also keep challenging myself to pivot and grow in new directions when conditions arise for it (and when they don’t!).
✨ Together, these values paint a picture of living authentically, making a difference, and creating spaces for others to thrive.
Thanks for reading! Stay tuned for more journaling prompts!
